MUSLIM BELIEFS ON ANIMAL TESTING:
WHY YOU SHOULD & SHOULDN'T SUPPORT ANIMAL TESTING:
Every day, thousands of people are saved from painful diseases and death by powerful medical drugs and treatments. This incredible gift of medicine would not be possible without animal testing. Also it would be inhumane to test new drugs on children or adults, this way it would also take longer to see potential effects but also because of the length of time we live compared to labartory animals such as rabbits or rats. A further point often raised against animal testing is that it is cruel. Some of the tests certainly seem painful, but the great majority of people on this planet eat meat or wear leather without any guilt. Where is their sympathy for animals? Furthermore, animals clearly do not feel the same way as humans, and scientists are careful to minimize stress in the animals, since this would damage their research.
WHY NOT SUPPORT?
Despite these overwhelming benefits, however, some people are calling for animal testing to be banned because of alleged cruelty and the lab animals which are used in experiments for either medicine or make-up, do suffer alot of pain. However people find that animal testing is okay as it isn't hurting humans. What about the animals say? They don't get a say whether they should be put into a lab for the rest of their lives and put in some considerable amount of pain which leads to most of the animals used in experiments to eventually die. An example of Animal Testing is a leading brand called "Procter and Gamble" they are most well known for selling Ariel, Daz, Fairy, Max Factor, Olay, Pantene Pro-V, Herbal Essences, and Head and Shoulders. All of these famous products which are on our shelves today are all tested on animals including your normal pet dog or cat. Procter and Gamble admitted that they even test on guinea-pigs, rabbits, rats, monkeys, hamsters, ferrets and mice as well as cats and dogs in pet-food experiments.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF ANIMAL TESTING;
Rabbits are commonly used in the testing of make-up. It works like this:
- First they put make up on the eyeball of the rabbit.
-Then they will just leave it there to see what happens.
If they were to do this to a human, our eyes would atomatically start watering to get the make up out. However a rabbits eyes dont work in the same way and so they are left in intense pain untill the make up starts to eat away the eyeball. I think this is extremely cruel as the rabbit has no way of getting the make up out of its eye and most of the time they will actually end up killing themselves in an effort to stop the pain.
Monkeys are used in experiments to find cures for dieases like Alzheimers and Parkinsons. Scientists say they are the best animal to use as their brains are the most like ours, and that they cant use anything else because nothing is as accurate as testing a real brain. However sources say that scientists have been known to saw open monkeys heads and inject toxins directly into the brain.I think this is also very cruel because the monkeys are usually dragged away from their families, transported for long lengths of time in cramped conditions and misstreated.

HOW DOES ANIMAL TESTING RELATE TO ANIMAL RIGHTS?
Animal testing is the use of animals in scientific experimentation. It is estimated that 50 to 100 million animals worldwide are used annually.Most animals are euthanized after being used in an experiment. Sources of laboratory animals vary between countries and species; while most animals are purpose-bred, others may be caught in the wild or supplied by dealers who obtain them from auctions and pounds.
Animal testing relates to the animal rights act because it goes against what it says "animals should no longer be regarded as research subjects".
